Dog Training

Our most popular service is private training sessions that typically last an hour. These specialized sessions will be planned in advance in order to tackle the specific issues you’re having with your dog’s behavior. Our modern approach to dog training, combined with our expert knowledge of how the brain learns, has led to a variety of behavior-modification exercises that will produce solutions for, as well as accommodate the needs of, every dog.

Since the majority of dog training relies on the confidence and technique of the handler or owner, our private sessions will center around teaching you, the owner, how to communicate with your dog, build a better relationship, and correct unwanted behaviors.

Board & Train
It is important for dogs to have consistency in their lives, whether that means in their training sessions, their feeding schedule, or even their daily exercise. When it comes to training, consistency is the most crucial tool to achieve success, which is why our Board & Train program consists of a 2-4 week boot camp in which your dog will receive consistent training, exercise, and mental stimulation. The training received during your dog’s stay at the Board & Train program will be custom-tailored to your pet and family on an as-needed basis. Our services can include:
  • Foundational Work: Instilling basic commands including sit, down, implied stay, heel, place, and recall
  • Behavior Modification: Correcting unwanted behaviors such as leash pulling, fear responses, reactivity, and aggression
  • Off-Leash Training: A more advanced exercise that depends on the capabilities of the dog
Benefits of Board & Train: Here at Florida Canine Center, we understand that many people want a confident, healthy, and well-behaved dog in their family, but are too busy to give them the consistent training they need in order to achieve that. Our Board & Train program can provide your dog or puppy with the 1-on-1 training time they need via our private sessions, while also giving them ample time to socialize with other dogs and humans. Our main goal is to develop a specialized solution for your needs, giving your pet the training they require to become a seamless part of your everyday lives. By the end of your pup’s Board & Train stay, they will be capable of socializing with new dogs, people, and environments, performing basic commands, and behaving ideally (no leash-pulling, biting, etc.) Whether you choose the 2 or 4 week bootcamp, the Board & Train program wraps up with a mandatory training session for you and your dog to complete together, ensuring that you, as the owner, receives a concise education in how to maintain your dog’s training at home so that they never revert to unwanted behaviors.
Aggressive Behavior

Together, Henrique and his pup Zeus have traversed a long road to recovery from PTSD. Over the years, Henrique has adapted his training program for Zeus many times in order to perfect a behavior modification strategy that takes into account trauma and aggressive behavior. Throughout this process, Henrique has found that combining several different training techniques can lead to the most success in creating a structured and peaceful life for a dog. As a trainer who specializes in behavior modification, Henrique believes that all dogs should be given a chance to find their family, regardless of their past traumas. If your dog is exhibiting aggressive behaviors, please do not give up!

Meet Henrique
After adopting seven-month old Zeus from an Orlando shelter in 2018, Henrique would soon discover that the puppy, who had been picked up as a stray, suffered from anxiety and PTSD. As soon as Henrique took him home it became evident that Zeus would exhibit aggressive tendencies when stressed, which created a serious obstacle as his triggers were initially unknown and seemingly numerous. Henrique’s determination to modify the dog’s aggressive behavior in order to keep him in the family, resulted in years of research into dog training methods and solutions. Today, Henrique has expanded his efforts in dog behavior modification to other dogs through his business, Florida Canine Center, as well as created a YouTube channel in order to educate others in dog training techniques. In addition to training dogs, Henrique comes from a martial arts background and has taught Kung Fu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to adults and children, as well as attended the University of Central Florida and received a degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning. The skills obtained from teaching and studying machines have greatly aided his research into the ways dogs learn, allowing him to merge his fields of interest.
